For over 40 years, Camp Kappe, nestled in a 130-acre wooded tract in Plantersville, T.X., has served as a center for Archdiocesan youth to experience and learn about the beauty of God's creation.
Camp Kappe provides overnight retreats, hosts the Archdiocesan Youth Council Conference, and offers ongoing programming about Catholic Social Teaching, environmentalism, and the need to be stewards of Creation. The camp is home to numerous wildlife and provides opportunities for youth throughout the Archdiocese to have a hands-on experience with nature.
Additionally, Camp Kappe is home to the School of Environmental Education (S.E.E.)--an accredited school offering a supplemental education program to the parochial schools of the area. S.E.E. provides 5th grade students in our Catholic schools a four-day outdoor experience of God's gift of nature while studying life cycles, food chains, the environment's effect on man, man's effect on the environment, conservation of resources, etc. It offers hands-on experience with farm animals and gardening along with many other exciting adventures in outdoor education.

Like over 60 other ministries in the Archdiocese, Camp Kappe is supported by the Diocesan Services Fund (DSF). Each year, programs supported by the DSF provide services that live out the Gospel message and bring Christ into our communities. 100% of every dollar given to the DSF goes directly to supporting ministries in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
