November was a tough month at St. Cyril of Alexandria!
Check Out The Pictures Below!!
Old clay sewer pipe that was great, 35 years ago, over time has fallen to ravages of ground shifts, tree growth and old age. As of November 13 we are about 2 weeks into the major replacement project of almost 400 feet of sewer line, from under 6 feet of dirt, with a cost of $50,000. But every parish has to be able to "flush".
Below are some photos of the project. Everyone's contributions to the parish for capital repairs are greatly appreciated, as the money goes "deep" into the heart of the parish.
November 14 - Workers are digging under the statue of Jesus as work continues.
The old pipe appears to be about 8 to 9 feet deep at this point!
November 15 - Works have "crossed the walkway" on the West Side of the Church.
November 17 - Digging proceeds between the West Breezeway, along the side of the Rectory.
November 18 - Restrooms are open again! - The crews today completed laying pipe to the city line on the Westheimer Rd. side of the Church. The two pictures below show the areas in Courtyard and front of the Church where "fill-in" was completed today.
November 26 - Wow, What A Difference! Check out the before and after pictures below of the cleanup work in the Courtyard. Nice Job!
