Choirs

St. Cyril of Alexandria has 4 different choirs, who lead the congregation in song each week during the Mass. We have 2 Choirs who provide music for our Liturgies in English and 2 Choirs who provide music for our Liturgies in Spanish. If you have a spirit of praise and a song in your heart, join a choir! Whether you sing or play an instrument, share your gift of music with us.

Rehearsals are on Wednesday nights from 7:15pm to around 9:00pm, where music anywhere from contemporary praise and worship to standard favorites is prepared.

If you are interested in joining the St. Cyril Traditional Choir who provide music during the 11am Mass on Sunday, please contact Adam Vincent Clay at [email protected] or 713-248-2247.  Rehearsals are on Tuesday nights at 7:30 PM till 9:00 PM.  Music is traditional choral and hymnody and focused on the mission of the continual pursuit of beauty of the highest quality at mass and celebrations.  Training of cantors and choral singing is integrated into rehearsals, and our community focuses on musical growth as a means of reflecting the Beauty of the Creator.  Choir is accompanied by piano and timpani, occasionally by organ.  Other instruments are welcome in support of our musical goals.
