Theology on the Vine is an opportunity to gather in a relaxed atmosphere over a glass of wine, participate in a thought-provoking discussion on a different topic each month, and get your theological questions answered without anyone knowing who wrote which question.
We meet on the first Thursday of each month from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, in the Parish Hall of the Community Center at St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church.
Who leads Theology on the Vine?
Rev. Mario Arroyo, pastor of St. Cyril of Alexandria Church, is the host, aided and abetted by various guests. From time-to-time, a Jewish Rabbi and a Baptist minister, Fr. Mario’s co-hosts on the radio show, Show of Faith, drop by. Throughout the year other guests will join us as we dig into each month's topic.
What happens at Theology on the Vine?
We start with a free glass of wine or other beverage, light snacks, and good conversation. Then we hear a presentation by Father Mario or a guest on the topic of the evening, followed by questions from the floor or questions turned in as you enter.
How can I find out what the topic of Theology on the Vine will be?
In the weeks before Theology of the Vine occurs on the first Thursday of each month, we will post the topic on the main page of the website. Then we will post weekly articles or links to articles which pertain to the topic so that you can read more about the topic beforehand.
Who is invited to Theology on the Vine?
We welcome anyone who wants to come, of any faith background or none. Bring a friend or a whole party. You are welcome.
What does Theology on the Vine cost?
The snacks and the first glass of wine or beverage are free. Seconds on the drinks cost a nominal amount. We ask for donations to defray the cost of the snacks.
